Richard T. Hanis, 82, of Jeffersonville, NY, a longtime area resident, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Achieve Nursing and Rehab Center, Liberty, NY. The son of the late Thomas and Mary Danko Hanis, he was born April 12,1939 in Newark, NJ. 

Richard proudly served his country in the US Army and he was a member of the American Legion.

Richard was married to his loving wife Pauline A. Lata, who survives him at home. He is also survived by his sister Jeanne Streckfuss and her husband Richard of Ford’s, NJ and by his two nieces, Susan and Cindy.

Interment of Richard's cremains will be in the spring with full military honors being conferred by the US Army at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery in Liberty, NY.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Jeffersonville Volunteer First Aid Squad.
