Robert “Robbie” DeStefano, Jr. also referred to as “Sonny” and lovingly known as “D”-Bomb has sadly left us.
His home was in Liberty, NY where we moved from Massapequa, LI when he was three years old.
Robbie enjoyed the single life and never married. He was an active partner in a medical equipment repair firm he founded with his father.
Nobody enjoyed life more than Robbie and nobody enjoyed life more than “with” Robbie.
His smile, good nature and energy lit up every room. You always knew when Robbie was near. He loved to cook and often wowed everyone with his treats. There was NEVER an end arranging his next adventure, his zest for life was immeasurable. A son and friend who never let you down or left you out to dry. He was always great at being a reliable helping hand.
He had a passion for all things that moved from fast cars to motorcycles to snowmobiles and 4 wheelers.
He had a level of concern for people’s struggles more than most and was always there to help a brother or sister in need. He loved HARD and played HARD with every ounce of his being. If you knew him, you felt it.
His time with us was short by most measures, however, it was full for the people whom he loved and loved him. My sweet, sweet boy. You will be deeply, deeply missed.
He is survived by his parents, Robert and Susan DeStefano; beloved sister, Lisa; and dozens of cousins, uncles, and aunts. Plus countless business associates and personal friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 10 AM in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 264 No. Main Street, Liberty, NY. Father Edward Bader will officiate.
Please consider donating, in lieu of flowers, to Catholic Charities in Monticello, NY, Catskill Animal Rescue Inc. in Ferndale, NY or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It would mean a lot to him and our family.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY 845-292-0001 or 845-439-5200 www.Harris-FH.com.
