The spirit of Saint Patrick brought out sweet sides and a traditional supper supporting a good cause with the Robin Hood Diner in Livingston Manor hosting their inaugurial Corned Beef for a Cause charity dinner on Saturday March 15.
Between the fund raising of the 50/50 and the various raffle items, including a hand-made whiskey dispenser created by local craftsman Scott Schoonmaker, as well as selling completely out of corned beef, the event raised just north of $2,000 dollars to be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
On behalf of the family behind the Robin Hood Diner ownership, Jan Pekny said that the diner saw people coming in to support the corned beef dinner all the way from 3 p.m. through 8 p.m.
“Our sponsors were so kind and wonderful to us,” she said. “It was all clear blue skies.
