HONESDALE, PA — An in-person event planned for September 10 called “Showing Up: Perspectives on Can- cer” that will bring together cancer patients, survivors and supporters in person to encourage them to share their stories, support and inspire each other is now free. Registration is required.

Tim Sohn, a 15+ year survivor of chronic leukemia, began sharing his story of living with cancer publicly in June of 2021.

On September 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sohn will host Showing Up: Perspectives On Cancer in-person event at Park Street Complex, 648 Park St., in Honesdale.

This is the first in-person event in connection with the weekly livestreamed show Showing Up: Perspectives On Cancer, found on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and You- Tube.

“In November 2021 I cre- ated the livestreamed show, “Showing Up: Perspectives On Cancer”, as a safe space where cancer patients, survivors and supporters could share their stories and receive love and support from people who tune in each week and share their connections and perspectives on cancer in the Comments. It’s a beautiful community of peo- ple who come together from around the world. Now it’s time to come together in person,” said Sohn, who recently received the Mission Award from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for organizing a 24 hour live-streamed fundraiser that raised thousands of dollars and brought 24 hours of cancer awareness.

The event is now free thanks to a partnership with the Leu- kemia and Lymphoma Society as well as the generosity of all the sponsors for the event: Pinky Swear Foundation, Ruse Hedge Coaching and Consulting, Veronica Jeans, XCures, Fuhsion Marketing, Carol and George Sohn, ReTress, Chasing Joy and Andrea Sanchez.

The agenda for the day in- cludes:

• A keynote by Nancy Barrows, the creator of the #RadiatingReal movement, one of the people who inspired Sohn to share his cancer story.

• Small breakout groups where attendees can share their cancer stories and receive support from other attendees in the safe space.

• Sohn will be sharing his cancer story for the first time in person at the event.

• An inspirational talk and singing by Rachel Druck- enmiller

• The first ever in per- son Showing Up: Perspectives On Cancer episode will also be broadcast online. Sohn will have a conversation with Brian O’Sullivan, who was diagnosed with mantle cell lymphoma in May of 2021.

Lunch will be provided.

Registration is required by August 31. Sign up for free at PerspectivesOnCancer.com.
