Shandelee Music Festival’s 29th Season is Highlighted by Kennedy Center Honoree Midori

SHANDELEE, NY – An exciting 29th season awaits fans of the Shandelee Music Festival (SMF) with a full two weeks of world class music presented at their Sunset Concert Pavilion.

The 2022 season begins on Saturday, August 6 with “An Evening of Chamber Music,” with a performance by Gramercy Brass featuring the music of Arthur Sullivan, John Williams, Meredith Wilson and more.

On Tuesday, August 9 and Wednesday, August 10, the SMF proudly welcomes Kennedy Center Honoree Midori. August 9 will be “An Evening of Violin,” featuring the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, Isang Yun and John Zorn. August 10 will be a special “Evening of Violin,” featuring the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, C. Iannotta and T. Escaich.

The August 10 concert will be free for all students 12 – 18 years old, and students will be able to meet and greet Midori after the performance – a once in a lifetime opportunity!

SMF’s Sunset Concert Series continues on Saturday, August 13 with “An Evening of Chamber Music” performed by The Fader-Gendron-Haas Trio, featuring the music of Franz Josef Haydn, Johannes Brahms and Felix Men­delssohn.

And on Tuesday, August 16, SMF presents “An Evening of Cello” with Borislav Strulev, featuring cello masterworks and famous opera aria transcriptions.

“An Evening of Chamber Music” with The Borisevich Duo will be presented on Thursday, August 18, featuring the music of Ludwig van Beethoven, Edvard Grieg, Niccolo Paganini and others.

And wrapping up SMF’s 29th Sunset Concert Series on Saturday, August 20, Sara Davis Buechner and “An Evening of Solo Piano,” featuring the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Frédéric Chopin, Federico Longas and George Gershwin.

All concerts begin at 8 p.m. and will be performed in the climate controlled, fully accessible and fully sanitized Sunset Concert Pavilion located at 442 J. Young Road in Livingston Manor. The SMF is committed to the safety and health of our concertgoers, staff and artists, and has developed safety protocols to assure that.

Tickets are $35 Regular, $30 SMF Members, $10 Students 17 and Under (with the exception of the Midori concert on August 10, which will be free for all students 12 – 18 years old).
