Shirley T. Rangaves of Hankins, NY, a retired registered nurse and employee of Grover Hermann Hospital, Callicoon Division, died December 18, 2024 at home. She was 87.

The daughter of the late Joseph Winkler and Madelyn Hogancamp Winkler, Shirley was born April 27, 1937 in the Callicoon Hospital. Shirley graduated from Delaware Valley Central School, Callicoon, NY, St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Hoboken, NJ, and earned a BA in Health Administration at St. Joseph’s College.

Shirley was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, past N.Y.S. Nurse Association, Sullivan County Historical Society, Town of Fremont Historical Society, and on the Board of Assessors in the Town of Fremont.

Survivors include her sister, Joyce Winkler Green of Honesdale, PA. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shirley’s name to Holy Cross Church, P.O. Box 246, Callicoon, NY 12723.

A memorial service will be celebrated for Shirley on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 10:00am at Holy Cross Church, State Route 97, Callicoon, NY. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Long Eddy, NY.
