SnO&W celebrates the season

Posted

The second annual SnO&W brought many dozens of participants out to the historic Liberty O&W Rail Trail at the corner of State and Hill Streets on an icy Saturday morning.

The event was sponsored by a coalition of partners including Sullivan 180, Sullivan Renaissance, the Town of Liberty, Fortress Bikes, the Sullivan County Division of Planning and the Sullivan O&W Rail Trail Alliance.

Many people walked the trail or brought their own snowshoes. For those without, snowshoes were offered by Hal Simon of Fortress Bikes. The Liberty High School Class of 2026 offered hot drinks.

After the three-mile walk on the Rail Trail, many of the day’s participants had a chance to see a sneak peak of the new Bridge and Tunnel Brewery that is looking to open at the corner of State and Lake Streets.
