Spaces still available in suicide prevention course

Offered by SUNY Sullivan, Sullivan 180

Posted

The SUNY Sullivan Community Learning Program and Sullivan 180  free suicide prevention courses continue Wednesday, January 5. Spaces in the course are still available for community members. Sullivan County has the highest suicide mortality rate in the Hudson Valley. QPR Suicide Prevention Training teaches people how to recognize the warning signs of suicide and employ the QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) method. The long-range goal is to train several hundred Sullivan community members in this life-saving intervention.

The two-hour course is being offered, via Zoom, the first Wednesday of each month from 12–2 and 5–7 pm. The course will run through May 2022. For more information, please contact Sullivan 180's Mental Health Program Manager Jenny Sanchez at JSanchez@Sullivan180.org
