Spartans beat Blue Devils!

Roscoe – Bill Steele’s Seward Spartans dropped by Roscoe on Friday night for a non-league matchup against the Blue Devils.

Roscoe was tested early, and were unable to keep pace with Seward in the first half. They fought valiently in the second half but dropped the contest 68-45.

“We played a lot better today, especially in the second half,” Coach Mike Hill said. “We are back in business.”

Roscoe visits Eldred on Thursday in a division matchup against the Yellowjackets.

Boys Basketball

Eldred and Tuxedo faced off in a division matchup, and the Yellowjackets defeated their opponents 60-43. Sean Furler and Trai Kaufmann tied at 18 points apiece, but the Yellowjackets had four players in double digits in the win.

Wrestling

Fallsburg/Tri-Valley participated in the Stan Elinsky Wrestling Tournament on Saturday. Arianna Gonzalez (110), Mike Aguilar Torres (160) and Adam Olsen (215) finished 11th in their respective weight classes. Edwar Ponce finished in 3rd place in the 285 weight class.

Liberty took part in the Jamie Mormile Invitational Tournament over the weekend as well. Rocco Sabatini (110) scored 3.0 points for his team. Ethan Blumenthal (152)  and Adam Houser (160) earned 0.0 points but each participated in some good matches. Jorge Reyes (215) placed 5th in the weight class and scored 15.0 team points.
