To the editor:

I want to thank Mr. Dittmer for his opinion letter in the Democrat for the opportunity to expand on my satire that appeared on October 23.

His point appears to be that we should discount the alarming negative statements about Trump (which he doesn't dispute) from Trump's own chosen appointees, most of whom, as high ranking Generals, served our country very honorably in important roles and were all praised by Trump at their appointments.

What or who has Trump ever served other than his own self-interests? As if he cares about his supporters. They are only used to blindly follow his destructive narcissism, waive Trump signs and chant “Mexico Will Pay.”

On the virus, remember Trump first praised Chairman Xi for his control of the virus, and then put in an inefficient ban, while consistently lying about the seriousness of the virus.

His mismanagement (no masks, discounting science and pondering the use of disinfectants inside the body) has contributed to over 240,000 American deaths and he's shamelessly abandoned any effort to lead us through this crisis.

Mr. Dittmer would seem to rather focus on Maxine Waters. Really, what's the relevance? Why not bring up Trump being impeached for his well documented extortion of the Ukrainian President, which by the way, cost a lot less taxpayer funds than all the failed Republican investigations of Benghazi.

If Mr. Dittmer wants to support a man of such demonstrated dishonesty, incompetence and low moral character then that's his right. But fortunately for our country almost 51 percent of us (an historic high) chose to fire him, even as he whines that he was robbed. Biden also earned 306 Electoral Votes, which if you remember, Trump bragged was a “landslide” total. Or perhaps Mr. Dittmer will support Trump's current attempts to discredit our Democratic voting standards by doing what Trump does best: Distort the Facts and throw out a slew of baseless Conspiracy Theories, all to desperately prevent him from being labeled what he loves to label others: A Loser.

Please let the healing begin.
