FERNDALE – Sullivan 180 and partners announce “What’s Your Blueprint?” a Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service Youth Summit, on March 18 at the Hurleyville Performing Arts Centre. This is a free event, open to Sullivan County youth (grades 9-12) to participate from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The “What’s Your Blueprint” MLK Day Youth Summit promises teens will be inspired by the importance of their VOICE, their ability to ACT for change, and help them CREATE their personal blueprint for life. Students will experience interactive workshops and collaborative art projects designed to open their minds and hearts to greater service for themselves and their schools. The day will be centered on the famous Dr. King speech, A Blueprint for Your Life, with workshops around the principles from the speech; Belief in Oneself, Determination and Commitment. Also, each student in attendance will receive four hours of community service time to be used toward graduation requirements.

The event will also feature keynote speaker, Damola Akinyemi, who is a former international basketball player, world renowned body builder, founder of Ayo Fitness, creator of the Ayo Jam fitness program, inventor of the Hydra Glove and former co-lead of the award winning Warrior Kids program which taught thousands of children across the Hudson Valley about healthier choices.
