To the editor:

I’m getting older and my memory is getting a little fuzzy, but I’m pretty sure it was the Weidens who came to the rescue when a drug rehab was being proposed for what is now the Union. Having been on the Board and served as the Director of the Sullivan County IDA for a number of years, there was no one I enjoyed working with more than the Weidens. In case someone is ready to complain that they received tax breaks, most of the IDA’s work was in getting grants so the Weidens could realize their vision. 

They point to the importance of character that is required for those in power. The Weidens know of what they speak. They possess an abundance of that trait.
