WHITE PLAINS – He’s done it again! A week ago, Tri-Valley senior phenom Adam Furman broke his school’s 1990 record of 4:16.44 in the 1600 set by Kristian Agnew with a time of 4:13.43 at the Tri-Valley Invitational. As if that wasn’t earth-shaking enough, Furman has set his sights also on Agnew’s 3200 record of 9:15.94 which has stood for 33 years as well. For Adam and his dad/coach Chip, the place where he’d have the best chance to shatter Agnew’s mark would be at the Glenn D. Loucks game. With an incredible amalgam of talent, stamina and will, Furman accomplished the goal with a stunning time of 9:13.45. Furman is now ranked first in both the 1600 and the 3200 in Division II and tops in Section 9. This coming weekend he will vie against rival Colin Gilstrap from Monroe-Woodbury who beat him in Cross-Country at states.

Also, at the Loucks games, Monticello senior hurdler Taina DeJesus finished sixth in the 400 hurdles finals with a time of 1:05:45. She was ninth in the 100-meter hurdles prelims with a time of 16.78

MIDDLETOWN- Tri-Valley and Monticello competed at the Middletown Invitational with some very impressive results including some first-place finishes including T-V’s Van Furman in the 3000 steeplechase, Anna Furman in the 2000 steeplechase, Tri-Valley’s Talan Scanna in the javelin and Monticello’s Quenten Liciaga in the high jump.
