JEFFERSONVILLE — If you've wandered through Jeffersonville any time in the past few decades and marveled at the flowers that brighten the town, you've seen Barbara Yewchuck's handiwork.

The Jeff resident is the village's "chief" gardener, a JEMS volunteer who can always be counted on to lend a hand ... and pull some weeds!

Saturday Yewchuck was honored for her dedication to beautifying her village with the planting of a special dogwood tree near the JEMS gazebo, plus a stone marker and a plaque from grateful members of the village.
