The Shandelee Music Festival presents “An Evening of Chamber Music” with The Neave Trio

SHANDELEE – Shandelee Music Festival audiences just can’t get enough of the popular “Evening of Chamber Music” during the Sunset Concert Series. And so, returning to the Festival after their triumphant 2019 performance is the esteemed Neave Trio.

Formed in 2010, the Neave Trio – violinist Anna Williams, cellist Mikhail Veselov and pianist Eri Nakamura – has earned much praise from radio station WQXR, Fanfare Magazine, The New York Times and BBC Radio 3. The Boston Musical Intelligencer said, “it is inconceivable that they will not soon be among the busiest chamber ensembles going…”

Just a few of their performance venues and festivals include: Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the Samoylov and Rimsky Korsakow Museums’ Chamber Music Series in St. Petersburg (Russia). The Trio has held residency positions at Brown University, University of Virginia, San Diego State University, the MIT School of Architecture and Design, and many other institutions.

In keeping with their goal – “To Engage. To Exchange. To Connect.” – the Neave Trio strives to champion new works by living composers and reach wider audiences through innovative concert presentations. Critically acclaimed recordings include: “Celebrating Piazzolla,” “French Moments,” and their debut album, “American Moments.”

The Saturday, August 14 program will feature the music of Rachmaninov, Ravel and Brahms, and will be performed at the Shandelee Music Festival’s fully accessible, climate-controlled Sunset Concert Pavilion, located at 442 J. Young Road, Livingston Manor.

All performances in the Sunset Concert Series begin at 8 p.m. and are followed by a specialty dessert reception. Tickets are $35 for adults, $30 for SMF members, and $10.00 for students 17 and under. And a virtual concert ticket is available for $20.

Advanced reservations are required by calling (845) 439-3277 or purchase your tickets and get more information online at www.shandelee.org.
