SARATOGA SPRINGS – The Bears cross country team secured another big invitational win on Saturday at Saratoga Springs. There were 106 varsity girls and 123 varsity boys on the course for the Division 1 Race (small schools) at the Burnt Hills Invitational, and three of the top four runners were Bears.
Adam Furman finished first overall, clocking in a time of 15:12, which is 21 seconds faster than last year’s time.
Van Furman finished second overall at 15:57, improving on last year’s time by one minute and 16 seconds.
Craig Costa was the fourth place finisher at 16:30, a 24-second improvement over last year.
For the girls, Anna Furman finished in third place overall, clocking in at 18:43.
The Bears have been gearing up for the Section IX and State Championship meets since their sweep of the races last year. With these invitationals keeping them on track, you can bet that this team will be ready for this weekend’s Sectional meet.
