CALLICOON — Dave Milner and Al Freedman’s Gatorbrigade take to the stage at Rafter’s Tavern in Callicoon, New York, Friday night, October 6. Milner performs at 7 pm, followed by Freedman’s Gator Brigade at 8 pm.

Dave Milner is a local musician, singer/songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Nanaimo Vancouver Island, Canada. Milner returns to Rafter’s with his brilliant and witty originals about life, love, relatable personal experiences, unique covers and his gorgeous voice. An integral part of Rafter’s Open Mic every Sunday afternoon, Milner is an audience favorite.

Al Freedman, the Gator, steps out with his Brigade of top-notch players to present his newest material, performing songs from his forthcoming double CD, “Man of Many Chapters.” Folk-rock-reggae-rhythm & blues are infused in this original music. Catchy melodies with poetic and contemporary lyrics support his story-oriented songs. Freedman has performed and/or recorded with many diverse artists including Bob Dylan, Tim Hardin, Gordon Lightfoot, Lou Reed, and Steve Forbert. In a 50-year musical relationship as longtime guitarist for Garland Jeffreys, Freedman has arranged, and toured both nationally and internationally, and at one point opened with Jeffreys for Jimmy Cliff and Toots and the Maytalls. Freedman’s present band includes Alan Freedman on guitar and vocals supported by Dr. Glenn, the Lieberman, bass; Simon Efrein, drums; and Nick Heathen, keys.

Rafter’s Tavern is located at 28 Upper Main Street, Callicoon, New York, right next to the Callicoon movie theater. Food, beer, wine, and cocktails available. Come out, meet your friends, and support live music. For more information, call (845) 887-9882.
