To the editor:
As a lifelong resident of Sullivan County I have seen more than a few individuals represent us in the U.S. House of Representatives, the people’s house. While we have been bounced around and put in different districts over the years, we have been fortunate to have had some excellent representation, from Matt McHugh, to Maurice Hinchey and most recently, Antonio Delgado and some of the Republicans weren't that bad either.
Our good luck continues this year to be able to send a young man to the Congress who will represent all of us and follow the model of those past representatives, a man who understands that while national issues are important, even more important are the local issues that affect our everyday lives. Rep. Antonio Delgado stands out as a representative who understood our needs and delivered the goods; from improved Internet to help for our farmers, Antonio worked tirelessly for all of us: Democrats, Republicans and Independents.
Josh Riley, remember that name, understands that while our nation has many issues to address, he will devote himself first and foremost to the needs of our residents, I am sure he will make us proud and continue the inclusive policies of those who represented us in the past. Join me and vote for Josh Riley on election day or take advantage of early voting at the Sullivan County Offices in Monticello from Oct. 29th to Nov. 6.
