HONESDALE, PA - ‘Hello Dixie Lynn!’ Enjoy a big basket of gifts held by maternity nurse Joyce Bannon! The first baby born in 2022 at Wayne Memorial Hospital (WMH) is Dixie Lynn Reese, daughter of Tia Franklin and Austin Reese of Waymart, PA.

She entered the world at 7:51 p.m. January 1, at 19.5 inches long and weighing 7 lbs., 2.4 oz. The delivery was assisted by Certified Nurse Midwife Pat Konzman/ Women’s Health Center at Wayne Memorial’s New Beginnings Birthing Suites.

Every year at this time, the New Beginnings staff presents a basket of goodies to the family of the first baby of the new year. Tia said “everything went well” and Dixie joins big sister, four-year-old Dalilah at home.
