While we continue to do what’s made our reputation stand out for over 130 years, our staff recognizes that the world around us is rapidly changing. Whether it is growing our presence on social media, completing a redesign of our website in 2021 or moving forward with expanding our podcast, we always look for ways to keep things fresh.

We also have some other exciting projects in the works, which you’ll be learning about soon.
But for now let’s go back to the podcast. For those unaware, each Friday on our podcast pages on various sites (Apple Podcasts, SoundCloud, Overcast, Spotify, etc.) we go through the week’s top stories in less than 15 minutes.

In addition to the news recaps, we have a series of special podcasts. The Omnipresent Sports Podcast tackles various topics in athletics across the County. Also, a new meet the staff series will allow you to get to know the members of our team.

In addition to these special podcasts, we’ve also featured interviews on a plethora of topics. For example, this has included talking with the National Park Service last summer about river safety, chatting with local firefighters and members of the EMS community on why they joined and local recruitment efforts ... just to name a few.

As for what’s ahead in February, the Sullivan County Democrat Podcast will have a couple of special episodes in recognition of Black History Month that we hope you will enjoy.

We also want to extend a special thank you to the Kitchen Table Cafe on Main Street in Callicoon for their support in sponsoring our podcast.

If there are special topics or interviews that you think will be of interest to our readers and listeners, you can email Managing Editor Joe Abraham at joe@sc-democrat.

In addition to the podcast, we hope you’ve enjoyed the changes made to our website www.scdemocratonline.com, which were made less than a year ago.

A reminder that in addition to finding the latest articles that appeared in the paper, you can also view all of our special sections, are able to access our podcasts, learn about and take action on advertising opportunities, as well as being able to submit various announcements and letters to the editor.

If we haven’t talked already, we look forward to hearing from you soon.
