LOCH SHELDRAKE – The Sullivan County Indoor Championships have concluded, and many competitors are now preparing to participate in the Section IX Invitational at the Armory Track & Field Center in New York City. On the success of this season, Liberty Head Coach Roothland Medina said, “They’ve been doing great, they push hard in practice, and they know that’s the only way to get results. I like their commitment, and it shows; there’s no way to fake it on the track, the numbers tell you exactly where you are.” PR’s have been made and surpassed over the last few months for many of these student athletes, marking accomplishments and growth since the start of the season back in December. “Our team had a good showing, [at the championships]. I am proud of our athletes for the improvements they have made and how well they have performed this year,” said Sean Reuss, head coach at Sullivan West. As the Eldred Yellowjackets’ indoor track team wraps up their season, Head Coach Lisa Marie Drewett shared her thoughts about the perseverance of her team. “They have been very determined. Trying to knock a little off their times, and work on their distances.”

This season, the weather has impacted both practice and game schedules, causing many contests to be postponed to later dates. As the regular season closes, it’s important to acknowledge the hard work and commitment of our local teams and coaches around the county.
