Monticello

To the editor:

Upon hearing of the passing of President Carter, my feelings were very sad and of high regard for his work to assist many people over the years has a profound legacy that has paid forward from the past to the future. The benefit for me is that I am the first recipient of a Habitat for Humanity home in Sullivan County, located in Monticello. I received this honor in 2003, having paid my mortgage in full in 2024. Having this pride will always have the thought of President Carter being a part of having a piece of the American Dream for years to come.
