LIBERTY – Join Naomi Bush, a local fiber artist and dollmaker, at the Liberty Museum & Arts Center this Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20 from 1-4pm as she presents a workshop making handmade animal dolls through the art of sewing. The workshops are open to children ages 6 and up. All children MUST be accompanied by an adult.
The goal of these workshops is to come together to talk, share and make an inventive creature using traditional sewing techniques. Choose one of the four animals: Noah the Koala, Harry the Hedgehog, Patrick the Penguin or Stella the Seahorse. At least one of the creatures will be selected to be put into our new Creation Station, outside the Museum.
The workshops are free and are limited to 10 people. All materials will be provided. We will be using patterns as shared in the book Handmade Animal Dolls by Melissa Lowry. Instructor Naomi Bush is an award-winning dollmaker and fiber artist who has exhibited her creations in craft shows, galleries and museums throughout the area.
Funding for these workshops is provided in part by a Community Development Grant from Sullivan 180.
The Museum is located at 46 South Main Street in Liberty, across from the newly-renovated Liberty Theater. Free municipal parking is available behind the Key Bank Building.
Let’s get together and create!! To reserve a spot at the workshop contact Naomi at (845) 239-8471 or call the Museum at (845) 807-6055.
