CALLICOON – Spring is here, and so are fun after-school and weekend programs at the Western Sullivan Public Library! Join for Dinner-and-a-Movie Night at the Jeffersonville Branch on Wednesday, April 1st. This month, chef Dale Buchheister will teach parents and kids how to make traditional Scottish handpies, then enjoy a film set in the Scottish Highlands. Snacks, popcorn and refreshments will also be served. Cooking begins at 5:30pm, film starts at 6:00pm. Runtime is 97 minutes.

Crafty kids will love DIY Club, meeting Friday April 3rd at 5pm at the Narrowsburg Branch. Kick off Earth Month with a sustainable craft activity: making beads from recycled paper and using them to make wearable art. Intended for ages 6 and up.

Garden Club is back at the Narrowsburg Branch on Saturday, April 4th at 10am. Garden Club is for kids ages 6-12 who are passionate about science and agriculture and love to get their hands dirty. Watch our garden grow from seedling to harvest, all while earning your Junior Master Gardener certification.

The Equation & Expression Program is a new high school student-led educational enrichment program for young learners that runs April 8th - May 6th at the Jeffersonville Branch. This session is open to grades 4-5 and will meet Wednesdays at 5:30pm. The next session will be open to grade 6 and will begin May 20th, with a focus on preparing for Middle School.

Local teens are invited to join us for weekly after-school and special programs at the Western Sullivan Public Library. No plans for Spring Break yet? Join for a special 3-day Teen Podcasting Intensive at the Narrowsburg Branch. This program will meet from 10am-12pm on Monday, March 30th, Wednesday April 1st, and Friday April 3rd, and will go over the basics of Podcasting from start to finish. Participants must be aged 13-18 and are encouraged to attend all three sessions.

For more Spring Break fun, join us at the Jeffersonville Branch on Wednesday, April 1st for a FREE Teens-only Movie Club. There will be pizza, snacks and refreshments, and we will choose from a wide selection of film options, including Marvel, Disney Pixar and DC Films. Participants must be aged 13-18 to attend. Artsy teens can also drop into Open Art Studio on Friday, April 3rd from 3-5pm at the Narrowsburg Branch for a relaxing, self-guided program that encourages experimentation, play, and personal expression. Dungeons & Dragons Club is led by community-member Josh Luistro and meets on Tuesdays at 6:00pm at the Jeffersonville Branch. Teens ages 12-18 are welcome to join in on the adventure!

Teens looking to complete Community Service hours are also encouraged to reach out to the Youth Programs Coordinator for volunteer opportunities throughout the year. For all teen and tween programs, registration is encouraged but drop-ins are also welcome. For more details and to sign up for any of these programs, visit the calendar at WSPLonline.org. Questions?
