Ellenville — Shadowland Stages, a cultural cornerstone of the Hudson Valley now in its 40th Anniversary Season, proudly presents the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, PROOF by David Auburn. Part family drama, part romance, and part mystery, PROOF is a masterpiece that is sure to captivate all audiences. Performances begin October 10th and run through October 26th on the Shadowland Stages MainStage.
The story: Catherine’s recent life has been spent caring for her father, a mathematician whose genius ultimately turned to madness in his final years. On the weekend of his funeral, she becomes undone by the visit of her estranged sister, a budding romance with a graduate student, and the mystery of what, exactly, she inherited from her father.
Shadowland Stages’ Artistic Director, Brendan Burke, helms the MainStage production, noting it as his “favorite play.” The cast includes SHADOWLAND favorites Eilis(Ay-lish) Cahill and Steve Brady, as well as TV actors Rudy Galvan and Carolyn Holding. Performances take place at SHADOWLAND’s MainStage Theatre, located at 157 Canal Street in downtown Ellenville, NY.
Regular performances run Thursday – Saturday at 8 PM, and Saturday/Sunday at 2 PM.
“Pay What You Can” preview performances are offered on the first Friday at 8 PM and the first Saturday at 2 PM of each production.
