SULLIVAN COUNTY – The Basketball Coaches Association of NY (BCANY) has announced their Section IX Top 50 girls basketball players. The 23rd annual banquet was held on Sunday, March 15, at Novella’s in New Paltz. This honor recognizes the top 50 players in Orange, Ulster, Sullivan, and Dutchess County regions.

Three student-athletes from Sullivan County were selected for the 25-26 season. For Class C/D, senior Olivia Gonzalez from the Eldred Central School District, senior Jordan Dymond from the Tri-Valley Central School District, and junior Ella Herbert from the Sullivan West Central School District. Herbert was also named Section IX Player of the Year for Class B.

The Top 50 players are selected by the Basketball Coaches Association of New York based on nominations from member coaches and voting by sectional representatives, focusing on high school performance. Coaches nominate their own players, and a committee then selects the top players across different classifications and sections.
