Callicoon — CALLICOON ARTWALK 2025 will be held on Saturday, October 11th, from noon to 6pm and showcases the artistic spirit of community in the picturesque hamlet of Callicoon on the Delaware. Local art, performances and workshops take place in unconventional places throughout the hamlet including storefronts, public spaces and the town jewel, the Callicoon Train Depot.

Its mission of the Callicoon Artwalk is to support the continued growth of the local art and music scene by attracting locals and tourists alike to come experience our vibrant creator community. This event is free and open to the public and a major force for developing cultural initiatives in the Hamlet of Callicoon and Sullivan County.

Catch a sneak peek of the artist’s work at Friday evening’s ARTCrawl, 5-7pm, with participating businesses staying open a little later for an early preview of the art to be displayed throughout Callicoon Main Street shops and restaurants, offering Art-themed specials. The Callicoon Marketplace will be hosting the official ARTCrawl Kick-off Party with music, refreshments for purchase and an Interpretive Dance Contest.

Artwalk 2025 officially begins on Saturday at noon with 50+ local artists displaying paintings, drawings, photographs, ceramics, sculptures and installations. It’s a full day of Live Music, Theatre Performances, Film Screenings, Artist Meet & Greets,Workshops, Demonstrations, Book Signings and more! A handy map will be distributed with the full schedule of programming, work on view and participating locations. Also available online at, visitcallicoon.com.

‘Fantastical Films’ returns to The Callicoon Theater with a new block of short films curated by local photographer, illustrator, painter, multimedia artist and curator, Elizabeth Ennis, from 11am until 1pm. Films by local filmmakers: Donald & Robyn Almquist, Ali Azios, Zarah Cabañas, Lisa Crafts, Elizabeth Ennis, Joanna Hartell, Tessa Hughes-Freeland, Elizabeth Kedrick, Len Lye, Evie McKenna, Michel Negroponte, Zak Shavrick and Lili White. Please note, this activity is not suitable for children.

Then at 5pm, feast your eyes on an encore presentation of the ‘Too Short to Suck’ [TSTS] Film Festival, celebrating succinct storytelling, (2 min. or less in duration) giving filmmakers the opportunity to create impactful, bite-sized films that leave a lasting impression. Films by 36 from local and international filmmakers.

Art meets sustainability, 2-4pm at the ‘Upcycle Your Threads’ Workshop with artist, Momo Lima. Bring an article of clothing or market bag to embellish with fabric paint and stencils transforming vanilla threads into wearable works of art!

Worldbeat and jazz fusion percussionist Obi Kaye gets the music started on the Callicoon Depot Main Stage at noon, followed by Poison Love Band’s fiddle-driven Acoustic Americana. Then at 2:30 enjoy an excerpt from River Rep Theatre’s ‘Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike’ –Chekhov is alive and well in Bucks County, PA, where adult siblings Vanya and Sonia reside in their family home. An unexpected visit from movie star Masha and her lover Spike leads to long-repressed resentments bubbling over into a weekend full of wild parties, voodoo dolls and surprise romance.

The music continues on the Depot Stage from 3pm on, with Cloud Cover: The Music of Kathy Geary; Caswyn Moon’s punky, yet melodic Americana; Faith Kelly’s spacey-folk, Appalachian flavored Rock’n’roll and singer-songwriter Lucas Maehara Rotman’s lyric-driven and deeply personal version of Americana.

On the ENGN Platform, programming begins with the ethereal tones of Matthew Hoffman’s Solo Vibes at noon, followed by Rich Klien’s classic rock stylings. Then New People, featuring Ramona Jan on sound saucer and vocals, Deerheart on percussion and poet laureate, Eric Baylin’s spoken word; and closing down the ENGN Stage is indie pop artist Veronica Fawn Fernandez, whose ethereal charm and sultry wit shine through every lyric.

Stop by the Callicoon Depot ‘Pop-up’ Gallery, 12-6pm to view a group show featuring work from fifteen local artists, a book signing with local author Diane Houghtaling, installation by Raphaele Shirley and a performance by Standing People Together at 3pm. ‘Diner Stories’ picks up the interlocking back stories of the four characters in Tiffany Esteb’s short play,‘Diner.’ This new full-length play was developed with support from local community and explores the themes of immigration, racism, poverty, and precarious work, which figured in the original play.

There will be dozens of opportunities to connect with artists at in-shop Meet & Greets throughout the hamlet and several demonstrations and mini-events through the day. Pablo Declan will be signing his books and drawings at Litt Home & Book; Kitt Sailer will be painting in plein air in front of Wool Worth, 12-5pm; Momo Lima will be hosting a workshop and drawing inspiration to create original works at The Callicoon Depot, 12-6pm; Lisa Lebovsky plein air landscape painting under the tent at Seminary Hill Cidery, 1-3pm; and stop into the Callicoon Depot Pop up Gallery to chat with artists throughout the day.

After Artwalk, head to one of the many wonderful restaurants or taverns in Callicoon for dinner, drinks and more live entertainment!

On Sunday, join the artists of the Callicoon Depot Pop-up Gallery for a closing reception 4-6pm. Work will be on display starting at noon and Callicoon Depot Inc. will be hosting an Open House with Art Book Sale, 10am to 4pm, with a viewing of paintings donated by artist Jay Brooks that are part of a Silent Auction to help raise funds for the Callicoon Depot’s restoration.
