The country fun was underway on Saturday at the Callicoon Country Fair. With vendors lining Main Street, live music on the Depot stage, and a kid’s area down at the Callicoon Creek Park, the town was filled with things to do. The heat descended as the day went on, with fairgoers sipping on lemonade and taking a dip in the creek to cool off. Local organizations, like the Western Sullivan Public Library and the National Park Service, were on hand to provide information to families and visitors. The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office was stationed to block off Main Street so people could safely walk. And there was one fan favorite from the day: the kettle corn. [Stay tuned for coverage from Riverfest, which was held on Sunday, July 26 in Narrowsburg.]
