CALLICOON — Local educator, chef and parent, Dale Buchheister, will be at the Callicoon Branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library for a special start-of-sick-season workshop, “Potions to Survive the Plague.” In this two-part program, you can learn all about home remedies to cure what ails you. Find out how to make fire cider and wellness sachets and explore all of the “magical” properties of everyday pantry staples. Part One will be on Saturday, November 1st at 2:00pm, and Part Two will be on Saturday, December 6th at 2:00pm. Participation in both workshops is encouraged but not required.

This program is recommended for teens, adults, and especially parents of young children (aka germ factories). FREE admission, but registration is required. Each participant will take home a complimentary jar of Dale’s homemade Fire Cider and the recipe to make it at home.
