ELLENVILLE – With more than a dozen musical shows under his belt, Alex Prizgintas has two new cello shows coming to the Ellenville Public Library & Museum and the Otisville Sanctuary in early October. Just this summer, he released a brand-new cello program for wide audiences: Sinatra. “With more than 200 bookings this year alone I need to keep a few steps ahead of my rapidly growing audience by developing and producing new shows,” according to Alex Prizgintas, cellist. “My new Sinatra program offers some of the best hits from the Chairman of the Board with a unique cello sound, as well as stories behind Sinatra’s, at times, decisive opinions behind his most famous tunes as well as other genres of music such as Rock ’n Roll.” Using a Boss RC-300 Looping Station to recreate the powerful orchestral arrangements of Sinatra’s music, as well as guitar effect pedals that bring his unique voice to life through the cello, Alex’s new show offers selections to be enjoyed by all ages. “Sinatra" will be shown on Friday, February 20th at 6:30 PM with the Otisville Sanctuary, 20 Highland Ave, Otisville, NY.

Following this, and building from his range of jazz standards, Prizgintas will travel to Ellenville for a special, new show. “With the Jazz Ambassadors, my off-stage narrator and I tackle the complicated topic of jazz musicians employed by the State Department to counter Russian propaganda about America’s racism. While a diverse mix of American Jazz musicians toured a variety of countries across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Latin America challenging the veracity of Russia’s racists accusations, black students back home in America were being sent to school accompanied by armed guards in states such as Arkansas. There was a disconnect and this show provides context and content along with some engaging conversation.

“The Jazz Ambassadors” will be shown by the Ellenville Public Library & Museum on Saturday, February 21st at 1:00 PM. It is the latest in a series of shows offered by Prizgintas under the banner of “Uber Arts: Delivering Food for the Soul,” which all seek to convey a message of openness and inclusiveness along with a level of engagement. “First and foremost, we are entertainers,” claims Alex. “But as entertainers, we seek to better understand ourselves and the world around us.”
