MONTICELLO – On a cool Monday evening, Charlie’s Angels put together an explosive offensive performance to defeat the Spitfires 24-3 in a Women’s League softball matchup that ended by mercy rule after three innings.

The Spitfires were retired in order to open the game, as Charlie’s Angels quickly took control in the bottom of the first. After a leadoff triple and an RBI single plated the game’s first run, the Angels’ bats came alive. Hit after hit kept the lineup moving as they batted through the order with only one out recorded. A series of doubles, aggressive baserunning, and capitalizing on defensive miscues helped Charlie’s Angels build a commanding 12-0 lead before the inning finally came to a close.

The Angels continued to apply pressure in the second inning. After the Spitfires stranded a runner at third in the top half, Charlie’s Angels added nine more runs in the bottom of the frame. A combination of timely singles, doubles, a run-scoring triple, and heads-up baserunning pushed the lead to 21-0. The Spitfires showed some life defensively late in the inning, turning a double play to prevent further damage.

Facing a large deficit, the Spitfires continued to battle in the third. A pair of extra-base hits helped them break through for three runs, avoiding the shutout and showing determination despite the score. Charlie’s Angels answered in the bottom half, loading the bases before a three-run triple brought the game to an end at 24-3. The victory capped an impressive night for Charlie’s Angels, whose offense produced runs throughout the lineup on a night when nearly every batter contributed to the win.
