NEVERSINK – On Wednesday night, at the Neversink ballpark, a confident Charlie’s Angels softball club defeated an undermanned L & B Tack club convincingly 14 to 3.
L & B team struggled with a short line up all night as they battled with only nine players. The game started out competitively; neither team was able to do much scoring in the early innings.
On L & B’s side of the diamond, Liz Stubitz was able to make a couple of exceptional plays out in left field to keep the game close early on. But once Charlie’s Angels bats warmed up, they scored run after run taking full advantage of L & B’s shorthanded lineup.
The top scorers for the Angels were Maggi Fitzpatrick and Samantha Cummings. Each of them had a terrific night, both hitting home runs and driving in 3 RBI’s.
Tricia Tuttle drove in 3 runs for L & B and went 3 for 4 in the game. Charlie’s Angels won this game easily with their dominant hitting.
