In the heart of downtown Honesdale, The Cooperage Project is a place where people of all ages can come together, try something new, share an experience, and connect with their neighbors.
As a community-building nonprofit, our mission is simple: we invite people of all ages to embrace diversity and shared experiences to create a deeper sense of community. We believe that connection can happen in all kinds of ways. Maybe it’s through live music, a creative workshop, a conversation with a neighbor, a community gathering, or simply showing up and seeing what happens.
Our programming reflects the wonderfully varied people who call our community home. Throughout the year, we offer concerts, youth programs, senior gatherings, creative activities, farmers markets, dances, open mics, educational programs, social events, and more. Many of our programs are free or offered at an accessible cost, thanks to the support of our volunteers, donors, sponsors, and community partners.
November offers a great example of what you might find at The Cooperage Project.
The Main Street Farmers Market returns Saturday, November 7th, and continues every Saturday from 11am to 1pm throughout November. Stop by to shop from local vendors, pick up some fresh food, and enjoy a Saturday morning with your neighbors.
On Sunday, November 15th, join us for Jazz with Tyler Dempsey + Friends, bringing live jazz to our main building. Then, on Thursday, November 19th, we’ll host a free screening of WVIA’s documentary Making NEPA Home. The one-hour film follows four refugees and immigrants from diverse cultural backgrounds who were forced to leave their homelands and have since built new lives in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The screening is open to all ages, with a $5 suggested donation at the door.
But you don’t have to wait for a special event to get involved. Whether you’ve lived in Honesdale your whole life or just arrived, there’s a place for you here.
Come listen. Come create. Come meet someone new.
Come As You Are. Leave More Connected.
