WOODBOURNE – The Sullivan County Community Chorus, under the direction of Conductor Kevin Giroux, is excited to present their 49^th annual Winter Concert. The program, entitled “Masters of Baroque Music,” will begin at 12:30 pm, on Saturday, December 13, at Immaculate Conception Church, Route 42, in Woodbourne.

The Chorus is still basking in the glow from their Carnegie Hall performance of Dan Forrest’s “Breath of Life,” with Manhattan Choral Productions. The festival chorus included approximately 230 voices, including choristers from high schools and colleges from across the country.

The “Masters of Baroque Music” performance will feature Vivaldi’s “Gloria,” as well as works by Georg Telemann, Dietrich Buxtehude, and Johann Pachelbel, with accompaniment by chamber orchestra and harpsichord. Guest soloists are from the Bard Conservatory Vocal Arts Program Studio of Metropolitan Opera Mezzo-Soprano, Stephanie Blythe.

All are welcome. The beautiful church sanctuary is a scenic short drive from much of the tri-county area, has ample parking and is wheelchair accessible. Suggested donation is $10 for adults and $5 for students.

This project is made possible in part from a Sullivan County Arts and Heritage Grant, funded by the Sullivan County Legislature, and administered by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance.
