MONTGOMERY – The Community Foundation of Orange, Sullivan and Rockland (CFOSR) recently distributed annual grants from the CFOSR Hudson Valley Animal Shelter Fund in Memory of Jean A. Rowe to five organizations after a robust review process. The grantees support animal care in various ways from promoting spaying and neuter programs to offering education programs about animal welfare and protecting animals.
The Cavalier Cove Pet Pantry received funding to help reduce shelter surrenders and keep pets and their humans together. Their mission is to support pet owners facing financial hardship by providing free pet food and essential supplies and ensuring that pets remain healthy, happy, and in their homes.
The Humane Society of Walden received funding to assist with a new roof and façade updates. The Humane Society of Walden is committed to making a difference for animals and the people who love them in Orange County.
Victory Hill Therapeutic Horsemanship received funding to improve outcomes for rescued horses. Their mission is to empower both children and adults with a broad range of special needs by providing the highest quality equine assisted activities and therapies in a supportive and inclusive environment in Orange County – 80% – Requested $5,000.
Catskill Animal Rescue in Sullivan County received funding to support shelter care and their medical support program. They are dedicated to saving homeless, abused and abandoned animals and to protecting animals from cruelty and neglect through education and enforcement of humane laws.
Warwick Valley Humane Society received funding to support animal enrichment and training programs. They are the second oldest humane society in the region. The WVHS provides Animal Control Services via contracts with the Towns of Warwick and Chester.
