CALLICOON – Delaware Valley Youth Center has surpassed its $50,000 funding target with its 27th Annual River Run! “A massive thank you has to go out to all the race competitors, sponsors, donors, and everybody who purchased raffle tickets; they all make this event a success and all help the Delaware Youth Center continue to support the community,” said Race Director for the Delaware Youth Center River Run, Ed van der Schans.

Van der Schans also shared with the Democrat that race sponsor, 89-year-old Dr Paul Ort participated in the 5k Walk finishing with a time of 1 hour 2 minutes and 22 seconds! But the race’s oldest competitor was 92-year-old Vete Rush. Rush’s neighbor, Gail Bolt, signed her up for the Gary Winglovitz Virtual Run 5k, and she [Rush] has been using the race as motivation to keep active and fit.
