MONTGOMERY — Fearless! Hudson Valley invites community members, runners, walkers, families, and supporters to join the 8th Annual We Can Be Heroes 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, October 26th, at the Orange County Airport in Montgomery.
This event brings together individuals of all ages to honor survivors, remember those lost to domestic violence, as well as raise awareness and critical funds to support Fearless!’s life-saving programs and services in Orange and Sullivan Counties. Participants are encouraged to dress as their favorite hero, whether that’s a superhero, a personal hero, or simply themselves, showcasing that everyone has the power to make a difference.
The day kicks off with the 5K Walk at 9:15 AM, the 5K Run at 9:30 AM, and the free ¼-mile Kids Fun Run at 10:30 AM. This fast, flat course welcomes runners and walkers of all ages, with awards for top finishers in each age group.
“This work is heavy, as it reflects the realities of domestic violence and the challenges survivors face, and whether you are an avid runner or just want to come out and walk the runway, the We Can Be Heroes 5K provides an opportunity for our community members to get involved with our organization in a fun and supportive way,” said Kellyann Kostyal-Larrier, Executive Director of Fearless! Hudson Valley. Registration and additional event information can be found at fearlesshv.org/heroesrun.
