Quietly tucked around the corner and behind the Stumble In/Out bar on Pleasant Street is quite a pleasant surprise for Livingston Manor diners, none other than the Kirin Thai Market.
This tiny storefront is, as it turns out, not a market at all. Rather, it is an authentic Thai restaurant, now in its fourth month of operation. Having made it through its first Catskill season, it appears to be here to stay.
Focused primarily on lunches and dinners, and ecause of its small size, it features a rich menu of take-out dishes made from family recipes passed down through several generations of cooking mothers and grandmothers of the owner and the other chefs.
On request, this family run restaurant can arrange indoor seating for small groups of 4-6 people; and by next summer they plan to have expanded outdoor seating, in the style of a sidewalk cafe.
The owner, ‘Pops’ Thongsukari works alongside chef Wan Chai Rinnasak to bring the flavors of Bangkok to the Catskills.
They are open 7 days a week from 12 to 9 p.m., except holidays. They are unfortunately not open for Thanksgiving, and may have reduced winter hours. Check out their menu on their website at www.kirinthaimarket.com and call to order at 646-416-4123.
