Free Family-Friendly Event: “The Guest” With Clown Daddy

Narrowsburg – On Saturday, March 8th, at 2pm, as part of DVAA’s Salon Series, Krause Recital Hall will be filled with songs, silliness and puppets!

In her show, “The Guest”, Clown Daddy is expecting a very distinguished guest, and preparations must be made! Join her as she sings, dances, and cavorts about with her puppet friends in readiness for their guest’s arrival. Enjoyable for all ages.

Clown Daddy, also known as Ellie J, is a Sullivan County-based actress-turned-clown blessed with a flair for physical comedy and a knack for puppet antics. Having trained at Atlantic Theatre Company in New York City and L’École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris, she delights in testing the power of embodiment and catharsis in the organism of the performer. Her performances lean towards vaudevillian slapstick, with a dose of rich emotions and just a smattering of metaphysical humor. To see upcoming events, visit clowndaddypresents.com

Salon Series schedule:

Saturday, March 15th, at 2pm, “Conversations In Chi” with Jane Ira Bloom and Kazzrie Jaxen.

Soprano Saxophonist Jane Ira Bloom and Pianist Kazzrie Jaxen, who are also practitioners of Tai Chi and Qigong, perform together for the first time in an exciting, spontaneous exploration of the present moment. Embracing the energy of the March 15th Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse, they’ll venture into the infinite beauty of the Chi Field, creating music which celebrates the joy and freedom of improvisation.

Saturday, March 22nd, 2pm, “Resounding Women: Music of Chaminade, Clarke, and Shaw” performed by the Sullivan County Chamber Orchestra.

Continuing DVAA’s celebration of Women’s History Month, the SCCO will perform two piano trios and a solo cello work by monumental maestras of composition. SCCO will perform a program of music by female composers, including Piano Trio No. 1 in G minor by Cécile Chaminade, In manus tuas by Caroline Shaw, and Piano Trio by Rebecca Clarke. Performers include Akiko Hosoi on violin, Kirsten Jermé on cello, and Gabrielle Chou on piano.

Saturday, April 5th, at 2 pm, “It’s About Time” featuring Eric Baylin.

DVAA marks the start of National Poetry Month with a multi-sensory poetry happening, presented by Eric Baylin. Expect readings, musical accompaniments, improvisational multi-media collaborations and more! Eric will be joined by Kazzrie Jaxen and Sullivan County’s Poet Laureate, Kevin Scot Graham.
