MIDDLETOWN —Garnet Health will host a new Aphasia Communication Group in its Outpatient Rehabilitation Center at 75 Crystal Run Road, Suite 110, Middletown, NY, on the second Friday of each month, beginning Nov. 14.
Aphasia is a communication disorder that can occur after a brain injury, affecting speaking, understanding, reading or writing. This service offers a welcoming space for individuals with receptive or expressive aphasia to practice communication and connect with others in a group setting.
“We are proud to offer a safe and supportive space for individuals with aphasia,” said Ann McEnroe-O’Connor, rehabilitation therapy director. “This gives individuals a chance to build confidence, share stories and connect with others.”
This program is not covered by insurance and requires a $15 out-of-pocket fee. Payment can be made by cash or credit at the time of the session.
