ROSCOE– It was a warm and sunny fall afternoon up on the mountain as Rockland hosted Goshen for a boy’s golf match at the Roscoe Mountain Club, with the visitors coming away with a narrow 250-256 victory.

Rockland was led by Gavin Thomas, who carded a team-best 40 on the day. Liam Husson followed closely with a 43, while Ben Johnston finished with a 44 and Logan Thomas shot a 57.

The Wolves entered the match a little shorthanded but still managed to keep things competitive, finishing just six strokes behind Goshen.

“We played well on Monday, Gavin Thomas shot a 36 against Fallsburg and we had others shoot in the mid 40s,” Rockland coach Nicholas Wyss said. “Then we had Gavin Thomas’ season low of 49 against Monticello on Wednesday. So, we’ve been doing good this week. We’re a little shorthanded against Goshen today but last time we played it was very competitive and we only lost by 1 stroke.
