Five…four…three…two…one…HAPPY NEW YEAR!
And just like that, the countdown shared around the world will once again restart the annual clock this evening into tomorrow morning. One year. 12 months 365 days. 8,760 hours. 525,600 minutes. 31,536,000 seconds; that is all that 2025 will allot us.
So the big question is – how might you spend it?
With all of the things that have happened just this year alone, both grand and terrible, it is imperative to reflect on all that has been in order to truly answer this question honestly. And that answer varies for every single one of us; as no human life is that of a cookie cutter.
Should you need to mourn, then mourn. Should you feel the call to rejoice, then do so. Or if it comes as a mix, then let it be a mix, as most things in life are so strangely interwoven together. Being a quarter way into this century, this momentous landmark will certainly share its vast wealth of light and darkness, but, as is all things that swing in the great pendulum of the world, it will likely be simultaneously both.
In the swirl, remember to look to the good times, and try not to hold onto anything outside of those times longer than necessary. Wrapping your arms around that ever-changing body that is grasped by gravity to hinder the flow is a human reaction to the desire to keep things more good than bad, but in that great struggle, a great amount of time is lost in kind. As the saying goes, “live and let live” – that includes allowing that for yourself.
This links back to New Years resolutions. While they are inherently a fantastic way to reset and refocus, remember that living is more than just the attempts of striving for perfection. It is simply living, and we hope that for all life on earth, this remains an enduring truth.
In peaceful tidings, we wish all of our readers all across the county and in places further away a very safe, warm and happy New Year! May 2025 bring nothing but good times, but if it should shift from that sentiment, then we hope it brings good lessons.
