Harvest & Heritage Day Brings Fall Fun, History and Spooky Stories to Downtown Honesdale

HONESDALE, PA — The Greater Honesdale Partnership invites residents and visitors to celebrate the sights, sounds, history, and traditions of the season during Harvest & Heritage Day on Main Street in Downtown Honesdale, Saturday October 10, with additional opportunities to experience the community’s history through Ghost Tours and Jail Tales throughout October.

 

Harvest & Heritage Day will offer a full day of family-friendly activities, shopping, dining, entertainment, and local craftsmanship as Downtown Honesdale comes alive with the spirit of fall. Visitors can enjoy hayrides, pumpkin painting, live wood-carver demonstrations, local vendors, live music, and more while exploring the shops, restaurants, and unique businesses throughout Downtown Honesdale. The celebration provides an opportunity for families and visitors to enjoy the community's historic downtown while supporting local businesses and experiencing the character that makes Honesdale a special destination.

 

For those looking for a little more excitement, October also brings the return of Ghost Tours and Jail Tales, offering visitors a chance to experience some of Honesdale's history through spooky and entertaining stories.

Ghost Tours will be held on October 9 and October 16, taking participants on a journey through Honesdale's past while sharing spooky tales and historic stories connected to the community.

 

Jail Tales will be presented on October 10 and October 17, offering another opportunity to hear intriguing and spooky historical tales associated with Honesdale. Both experiences combine local history, storytelling, and a little Halloween atmosphere, making them a unique way to discover Honesdale after dark.
