The Sullivan 180 Healthiest Fire Department Challenge is fired up for firefighter health. Smallwood-Mongaup Valley Fire Department remains in the lead with 201 points. Jeffersonville and Kauneonga Lake are once again tied for second place, with Livingston Manor Fire Department just a few points behind. Departments didn’t let last week’s heat slow them down. They participated in a 5K, took walks, enjoyed healthy snacks, and welcomed Ellenville Regional Hospital’s HEAL Mobile for health screenings during their department physicals night. Kauneonga Lake and White Lake firefighters participated in Smallwood-Mongaup Valley Fire Department’s Fighting Fires 5K, where firefighters and their family members took home trophies and medals.
