“We’re celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Yasgur Road reunion,” shared steward of Yasgur Farm Jeryl Abramson. Visitors from Ulster County, New Jersey, Delaware and Massachusetts descended on the famous location. Artists like Phish and Billy Strings have massive fan bases. “We’re jammed packed for the weekend,” Abramson said. “With so many people coming to camp here, it takes a lot [out of] the township when there’s a big multi-day event like this.”
According to security officers on the grounds nearly 800 concert-goers arrived on Thursday evening and more than 2,000 were expected. Buses arrived on Friday afternoon filled with happy-go-lucky campers who set up tents in the nearby woods for the weekend long festivities.
Vendors also set up food trucks and such to feed the hungry crowd. Owner Joe Imperial of Imperial Pizza Company in Kingston brought his pizza truck to the festival.
“This is our first weekend here at Yasgur and we’re happy to be here. This is the place to be!”
Visitors were no strangers to a Billy Strings concert. Annie Johnson of Rockland, Delaware has been to more than 50 Billy Strings concerts but less than 100! LeAnne Tyson of Germantown, Maryland marks her 33rd concert saying, “This is a great experience. Everyone is family and it’s all beautiful.”
