NEWBURGH – The Board of Directors of Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Eric Gatsik as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Eric initially joined the organization on a consulting basis earlier this year and has since played a key role in supporting operational improvements and advancing strategic priorities.
Eric brings more than 20 years of experience in healthcare leadership, strategic operations, and financial management. Prior to his work with Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, he held senior roles at Optum Health and Crystal Run Healthcare, where he led transformation efforts, clinical integration, and performance optimization initiatives. He also served in strategic leadership at NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue, one of the country’s largest public hospitals. Earlier in his career, Eric worked in public accounting, building a strong foundation in financial analysis and operational discipline that continues to inform his leadership style.
Since joining the organization, Eric has worked closely with staff and leadership to strengthen internal systems, enhance transparency, and reinforce a shared commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.
“Eric has brought thoughtful leadership and a steady, team-oriented approach to our organization,” said Charlie Milich, Chairman of the Board. “We’re pleased to have him take on the CEO role. He listens, engages, and helps move things forward in a way that reflects our mission and values. I also want to extend my sincere thanks to Andrew Stuchiner and Emily Robisch for their leadership and support throughout this transition. They will now return to their ongoing roles as Chief Clinical Officer and Chief Financial Officer, respectively.”
“It is a tremendous honor to serve this organization and the communities that rely on us,” said Gatsik. “Hospice is about compassion, dignity, and human connection, and I have seen firsthand the extraordinary commitment of our team. I am proud to support the mission and the people who bring it to life every day.”
Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties remains dedicated to providing expert, compassionate end-of-life care to patients and families across Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties. With this leadership team in place, the organization is well-positioned to continue building a sustainable, patient-centered future.
