James Arthur Canfield, 81, of Callicoon, NY, passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2026.

James was born on June 25, 1945, in Honesdale, PA, the son of the late Donald Canfield and Hazel Wilcox. He was a graduate of Narrowsburg Central High School, Class of 1963.

James had a love of country music and, in his younger years, enjoyed participating in and attending local softball tournaments at Heinle’s field.  He loved bowling, Dodge trucks and Genesee Cream Ale.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Gene Reynolds.

James is survived by his brother, Ronald, and his wife, Martha, of Spring Hill, FL; three nephews, Shawn, Todd, and Ronald (Bam); and his cousin (Sis), Dawn Vannatta.

Memorial services will be held in the summer of 2027. Details will be announced at a later date.
