Christmas is getting here too fast! I decided to get out and finish up my Christmas shopping, shopping locally as I know how important that is.
I went to the North Branch Cider Mill and purchased some cute ornaments, candy (of course), a beeswax candle, jellies, small wooden spoons, a cute ceramic mouse mini pitcher and more!
Tonight come out and enjoy a Festive Evening Shopping from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.! All the candles will be lit, and holiday music will be playing! They will be serving up hot spiced cider and Swedish Glogg from the wood fired cook stove. Roasted chestnuts, ginger cookies, and mince pies fresh out of the oven too. A fun way to feel like you are back in time with a huge Christmas tree and items you will not discover elsewhere!
I visited Randy at “R/52 Home” a great gift shop in the rear of the “Sullivan Sundries” (located at 4890 State Route 52 – middle of Jeffersonville) and found some real treasures. I purchased some soaps, a candle with Santa on it, pretty dish towels, a beautiful necklace, coasters, Vintage Christmas cards and more! I will return closer to Christmas to pick up some delicious food items I saw at the gourmet area in the “Sundries” front section.
Then I will return to “TERRA “ a shop next door to get a beautiful piece of pottery I saw a week ago. These are some wonderful local places for you to explore while you finish up your shopping for the holidays, and you are helping the local economy too! Visit our new businesses too: “Toast,” “Cuppie Cakes Desserts” and “Double D Sourdough” all unique with great mouthwatering specialties!
I also traveled to “Liberty Blooms Florist” (at 91 North Main Street, Liberty) to finish up my Christmas shopping. The shop is beautifully decorated for the holidays with glitter, lots of reds & greens, pine cones and greenery – offering so many choices of holiday floral arrangements that it will be a difficult decision for you – I chose two Teleflora pieces! Then there are some nice gifts too! I chose 3 adorable stuffed animals from the “Bearington Bear” Company & mini puzzles in a test tube that I used to sell at “The Secret Garden”, and a beautiful large Christmas mug for MY hot chocolate. There are candles, ornaments, and lots more. Call 845-747-9404 to place an order or FMI and follow them on Facebook to see for yourself what a special place they are!
The businesses up and down Main Street Jeffersonville have decorated their windows and each is prettier than the other especially at night! Do not forget to visit the Backyard Park (21 Lovett Lane - over the bridge by the Jeff Bank) for the spectacularly decorated Holiday Tree display. They can be seen as you drive down State Route 52, just be careful and watch the road too!
