In a new month and getting closer to Spring and warmer weather – how many more days? The Sullivan County Bureau of Fire wants to keep you safe during a whiteout. DO NOT stop in the road, come to a complete stop only when you can safely get as far off the road as possible.

Buck Brook Alpacas located at 12 Bestenweider Road in Roscoe is open Fridays and Saturdays for Winter Walks with the Alpacas! The Huacaya Alpacas are raised in a comfortable and environmentally friendly farm setting and their herd consists of over 30 male and female alpacas of a variety of colors! They are black, brown, fawn, grey and white. Now there is some family Winter fun! 

On Friday, February 21 a “Fish Fry” is being held at the White Sulphur Springs Firehouse from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. You can eat in or take out a delicious meal that includes fried haddock, a baked potato, coleslaw, dinner roll and a brownie for $15. This delicious meal is brought to you by the White Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church and the White Sulphur Springs Fire Department. Come out and support your volunteers while you enjoy a delicious dinner.

Save the Date: White Sulphur Springs Fire Department will be hosting its Annual Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, March 2nd beginning at 7 a.m. and ending at noon. Come out and enjoy some delicious pancakes sided by some great sausage, eggs, coffee & glass of orange juice. Do not forget the delicious homemade maple syrup!

The Western Sullivan Public Library is holding a “Homeschool Group Interest Meeting” at their Jeffersonville Branch on Wednesday, February 12 at 2 p.m. Light refreshments while a round table discussion of what local families are looking for in a Homeschool group. They will discuss scheduling, resource sharing, group activities and other ways to support our local homeschooling community! Contact Callison at WSPL.childrens@gmail.com. 

Our Protection Hose Company No. 1 of Jeffersonville is holding their 23rd Annual Chicken Barbecue at the Jeffersonville Firehouse on Sunday, March 30th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Takeouts only at $15 each. Contact one of the firemen for a ticket. Normally they are at their firehouse on Thursday’s around 7 p.m.
