“Summerween” in Jeffersonville sponsored by Nancy from the  Solstice and Ash Mystic Shoppe was a huge success with at least 100 children participating ! They were all over town with the  Trick or Treat bags they made and maps telling them what businesses to visit. Some were outstanding with their faces painted, and carrying animal balloons from  Double D and Cuppie Cakes. Our Fire Department also participated handing out goodies and showing everyone their trucks and equipment, taking pictures with the kids too! I think the parents enjoyed the day as much as the kids! Thank you to our businesses that helped to make this a great success too!

Next in Jeffersonville is the Jeff Jamboree Saturday, September 13! Grab your family and friends for the Tractor Parade and JEMS Annual Duck Race.  Music all day by the talented Little Sparrow band and new this year, line dancing down Main Street  with April from “Dancin’& Dreamin’ LLC! Free wagon rides through town by Butch and his beautiful draft horse team and lots of vendors and community groups too!  Before all the fun starts enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast at the First Presbyterian Church!

Paint and Sip is being held on September 24 at 6:30pm at the White Sulphur Springs Inn (located at 3334 State Route 52, White Sulphur Springs) Cost is $40 per person – all supplies are included. The Western Sullivan Public Library, Jeffersonville Branch invites you to stop in and talk to a representative from Sullivan County Public Health on Tuesday, September 9 from 11am-1pm. They will provide brochures about programs available as well as tick kits, hand sanitizers, and much more. Also offering on-the-spot trainings to become certified in administrating Narcan. 

The Ancient Order of Hibernians are hosting a Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day Golf Outing at the Roscoe Mountain Club on Sunday, September 14 with a 1pm Shotgun Start. Registration is at 11:30am/Lunch. Most of us know Fall means deer migration and mating. That means more road crossings and there are still young fawns that do not know any better. Collisions kill thousands of deer, and people every year. Please slow down and drive “aware.”
